Dan and Jen's Definition of Parents

Parent - The American Heritage Dictionary defines parent as 1. A father or mother. 2. A forefather; ancestor; progenitor.

Dan and Jen have searched many dictionaries for the definition of parent. After reading each definition, none satisfied them. They then realized that no definition can possibly contain the meaning of what their parents mean to them. We each make our own definition.

To Dan - his mother has been his guide through life. She is his mentor and his source for strength. A sounding board for truth and facts of life. A shoulder to lean on and a warm hand to hold at his heart.

To Jen - her mother and her have a relationship beyond love and friendship. With each look into each others eyes, they communicate volumes. With each laugh they share, a joy beyond the bounds of laughter is felt and echoes deep within their hearts.

To Jen - her dad has been the one who gets the laughter going. He is always there with a bright smile and open arms. He has taught her to be supportive and understanding. And he has always backed her up on every decision she makes.

With how their parents have guided them to this point in their lives; their support; their love and by their example; Dan and Jen's union is now possible.
